2000: Hong Kong, INTEGER Pavilion

The INTEGER Pavilion and exhibition offered a range of facilities for some 30,000 school children from 245 schools in Hong Kong and for 3 universities who participated in a research programme. Facilities included the exhibition itself with interactive displays about the challenge of climate change, the need for resource conservation and steps which families can take to minimise their carbon footprint, and full size demonstration flats with future technologies. An interactive computer game allowed children to design, furnish and equip their own homes to better environmental standards. A seminar room and larger open exhibition area was used for school visits, research seminars and educational events. The Pavilion was relocated to Beijing as a permanent Environmental Centre and continues to play its educational role.
